As Olukoya Dedicates MFM Glory Church Kubwa

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) is a full gospel ministry devoted to the Revival of Apostolic Signs, Holy Ghost fireworks and the unlimited demonstration of the power of God to deliver to the uttermost, absolute holiness within and without as the greatest spiritual insecticide and a pre-requisite for Heaven is taught openly. MFM is a do-it-yourself Gospel ministry where your hands are trained to wage war and your fingers to do battle.

At MFM prayer city, prayer goes on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, non-stop. This because aggressive prayer is considered as an aid to spiritual focus and a check against being overwhelmed by the flesh.

Soon after completing his Ph.D. in the United Kingdom, and while working at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya (DKO) summoned a prayer meeting. This was on a Wednesday in 1989 while 24 brethren showed up at the meeting. The venue of that meeting was in the living room of DKO.

After that meeting, the voice of providence kept calling for subsequent meetings. At these meetings, the power of God came down and verifiable miracles began to happen in the lives of the attending brethren. The power of God began to evangelize the prayer meetings and a spiritual explosion began with people coming from far and wide to seek the face of God.

With more and more people attending the prayer meetings, a larger location was required. The prayer meetings moved to 60 Old Yaba Road, Yaba, Lagos. Here, the teeming crowd of believers grew in even more amazing proportion necessitating a second relocation.

The prayer group  purchased an abandoned slum located at 13 Olasimbo Street, Onike, Yaba. It was a fairly large piece of land near the second gate of the University of Lagos. That slum has now been transformed into the International Headquarters of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries of which Dr. Olukoya is the General Overseer. The name “Mountain of Fire & Miracles Ministries” was revealed to DKO during normal prayer and the church had its first service on April 24, 1994.

Even at the new location, believers and those seeking help kept coming leading to a very larger congregation. This situation posed a challenge of crowd, growth and expansion management to the leadership of the church. Thus, under the direction of the Lord, MFM evolved a strategy of a network of branches in every state capital, local government headquarters, senatorial district and locality. Till this day and across the world, MFM branches spring up as one of the fastest growing churches of this generation. The church’s  international  branches first started in London before spreading to the United States, Canada, and the rest of Europe, the Caribbean, Asia other African countries. On every continent, MFM is profoundly visible and greatly impactful.

However, the history and the foundation of the MFM Kubwa regional headquarters shares similar experience, the branch started from a house fellowship center and later moved to a primary school in Kubwa, Bwari Area Council.

The fellowship had increased daily with a number of people within Kubwa environs and those coming from neighbouring communities and today the region boast of a population strength of over 5, 000 members with an auditorium of over 25, 000 member seat capacity.

The MFM Kubwa will witness a grand dedication of the 25, 000 member seating capacity auditorium to be performed by the General Overseer MFM Dr. Daniel K. Olukoya on Friday the13th Day of October 2017.

The journey which led to this triumphant entry into the FCT today wasn’t easy, it started in 1999 as mentioned earlier in a primary school with less than 15 members shepherd by Pastor Wole Dahunsi who was a civil servant before he resigned from a Federal government ministry to become a full time minister and pastor of the Kubwa MFM.

He was a dedicated servant of the Lord who knew early enough that the development of church infrastructure like members auditorium, children and youth buildings and the deliverance hall were significant to evangelism to attract high profile personalities in the society to serve God in a serene environment.

He therefore did not leave any stone un-turned to ensure delivery in creating needed and a harmonized atmosphere that encourages big time crusades and evangelism to populate the kingdom of God.

Pastor Dahunsi was later moved to Calabar in a re-structuring exercise of the MFM and replaced by Pastor Wale Olumuyiwa, another servant of the Lord who contributed his quota in his own way by attempting to complete the deliverance hall, a project initiated by his predecessor and until he was transferred from the region the project was still ongoing.

As God may have it, before the pioneer pastor Wole Dahunsi was transferred, he conceived the idea of constructing a modern day befitting auditorium, but could not commence the project before he was redeployed.

Right away, a Senior Regional Overseer was posted from Lagos to Kubwa in May last year, a man of vision and boiling energy to advertise God  in person of Pastor Olumide Oni, on arrival he applauded his predecessors for the wonderful work both in infrastructure and soul winning, but made a commitment which was incredible but turned out to be realistic.

In one of those his prophetic moments on Sunday, he announced to the whole congregation that he was going to pull down the church auditorium and rebuild it in 9 months,. And the structure which the man of God was to demolish was worth millions of naira.

The truth was that less than 2 percent of members actually believed he was serious about the proclamation and even if he was serious, were there provable signs of available resources to execute such big infrastructure project of over 25, 000 members and seating capacity auditorium? Only time will tell.

Pastor Olumide Oni was not unaware of the fact that the church had less than a million naira in the treasury at the time God asked him to build a house for him, and in the following week the man of God had pull down the auditorium and set out to perform the ground breaking ceremony to kick start the project.

He worked alongside with the Architects, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Construction and Water engineers day and night to ensure completion period of the project estimated to last for 9 months.

The funding came from among members who donated based on ability and capacity ranging from N500, to any amount affordable, today the eventual functionality of the project still remains a mystery in the minds of members.

There is a portion of the Bible that has always inspired me so much and has helped in  transforming my life “ Who will say a thing and it will come to pass when God has not commanded it” this shows clearly that the man of God must have communicated with God perhaps held several meetings with God and after far reaching resolutions he made the announcement on the pulpit and for members who presumed the pastor was making a wishful thought came to the realization that the decree of the man of God was established 8 months later.

Apparently, the temple was pull down and rebuilt in 8 months, a period less than the 9 months earlier pronounced, and today the MFM kubwa regional headquarters is poised to dedicate the 25, 000, member and seating capacity auditorium, completed deliverance hall, three schools and colleges of ministry on Friday the 13th of September 2017.

The crusade and dedication ceremony will be performed by the General Overseer of the MFM Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya at the Glory Church Kubwa, after series of similar dedication at Marba Region, Gwagwalada, Utako and Bwari, all in the Federal Capital Territory FCT.

Dr. Olukoya is expected in Abuja on a five day working visit to dedicate MFM worship centers in the above mentioned areas and locations in the FCT.
