A yet-to-be-identified man has been arrested in Benue State for beheading his neighbour over land dispute.
DAILY POST gathered that the suspect, a native of Igede committed the crime on Monday in Utonkon area of Oju LGA of the state.
It was observed that Utonkon and Oju share common boundary.
Residents told our correspondent that the two farmers have been on warpath over a piece of land in the area.
Sources said both men met in the farm Monday morning and fight ensued between them.
The suspect eventually overpowered the deceased and cut off his head.
He buried his half body in a shallow grave inside the farm and put the head inside a bag but he was caught by some villagers.
He was eventually taken to Otukpo area command where he is currently facing interrogation.
When DAILY POST correspondent contacted the Benue State PRO on Monday, he confirmed the incident, saying that investigation is currently ongoing on the matter.
“Yes, the suspect is currently in the Otukpo area command where he is facing interrogation. He is a native of Oju while his victim hailed from Ado LGA, both Igede speaking part of the state.
