Despite owing over N115b debt, the Benue State Executive Council (EXCO) has approved the sum of N75.8 million Naira for the renovation of the Governor’s Lodge in Makurdi.
This was disclosed at the 4th media briefing by the Commissioner for Information, Ode Agih after the Exco meeting in Makurdi.
According to Agih, it had become imperative to renovate the lodge in order to make it habitable for the Governor to occupy and put an end to his continuous stay at his private residence.
He said the Exco also gave approval for an 11-man committee to prepare grounds for hosting of prominent sons and daughters of the state, as well as organise a special honour in respect of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu, the second civilian Governor of Benue State.
