”I Never Defamed Nor Threatened Anyone”

A Turkey based Nigerian social crusader and blogger popularly known as Tenny Omoologo, has strongly denied any involvement in the alleged death threats by some persons against the widow of late singer, Omowunmi and her son, Liam.

Tenny reacted in the wake of a petition written to the Lagos State Police Command in December, 2023 by a human rights activist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Barrister Femi Falana, alleging death threats against Omowunmi, from anonymous callers and the following users of Instagram, Tiktok and Facebook; Westo Adekunle Adejumo, Larry Omodia (African TV), Peckins Rules, Arifanlajogunomoagba, Bukola Jesse, Themuicpivot, Kudi Alowonle (Yeye Kudi Courtroom). Although Tenny’s name was not mentioned in the petition, at a press conference that was called later, Tenny’s name was listed among those alleged to have called Omowunmi and threatened to kidnap her and her son.

Following the controversial death of Mohbad on September 12, 2023, there were nationwide calls to investigate the cause, with protests held in some states demanding justice. Likewise, the conventional media, social media users and bloggers also lent their voices in the search for justice for Mohbad.

Tenny Omoologo is one of the lot that is demanding justice via her social media handles; YouTube, TikTok and Facebook. However, while on the topic, Tenny denied that she ever made affirmative allegations against anyone but ran her shows on the matter based only on verified sources.

Recall that, while at the Coroner’s inquest set up by the government to unwrap the circumstances behind Mohbad’s death, Omowunmi narrated how she and her father-in-law, Mr Aloba who is Mohbad’s father, used to be very close.

She alleged that they were so close to the extent that Mohbad’s father used to bring his girlfriend to his son’s rented apartment in Lekki and she never complained because it’s his son’s house. Wunmi stressed in her statement at the inquest that problems started between her and Mohbad’s father when she gave birth to Liam.

She said Liam’s placenta was what caused issues between them. She spoke on the Ikorodu show which was Mohbad’s last and where he was said to have sustained the wound that led to his death. Wunmi spoke about the Canada visa issue and many more. Based on Wunmi’s statements at the inquest and the true accounts of Mohbad’s father and other family members’ and friends, Tenny Omoologo said she made her social media live shows and neither defamed nor threatened anyone.

Below are Tenny Omoologo’s clarifications;

The Canada Tour Issue:
This plot against me didn’t start now. It started when I made a video on my platform about the Canada visa controversy. People can go back to see that video which I did last year. The Mohbad’s issue was just starting then and it was so hot. But nobody knew where it headed because even the police were not helping matters at the time.

So, when the family went to the court during the inquest, the issue was all over the media. It was Mohbad’s DJ that spoke first. And based on the viral news, I did my own analysis and asked questions. When Mohbad’s father and Wunmi spoke to the media, I also did an analysis to cast light on dark areas. Before the inquest started, I had got information that Mohbad was planning a musical tour to Canada between September 21 and 25, 2023.

When I got the information, I asked someone who is based in Canada how many days it would take to travel from Nigeria to Canada and the person said it will take two days. Now, if Mohbad had a show in Canada from 21st to 25th he needed to leave Nigeria from the 17th Or 18th. At least, he had to cover two days for the trip and spend the 20th to rest since he had his first show on the 21st. So, the question I asked was how Mohbad died on the 12th. That was where the plot against me actually started.

The ‘Doctor’ and Mohbad:
There was this news update that was published by Gistlover. It said that Mohbad’s hand was swollen following a fight after a show he had the previous night. The news said that they could not get Mohbad’s personal physician to attend to him.

Eventually, Mohbad died. In the same Gistlover story, it was said that an unknown person requested to have Mohbad’s phone number. The person was quoted to have said that there is a contact in Mohbad’s phone which he saved with ‘Doctor’. The person said Mohbad used to interact with this ‘Doctor’ on Snapchat, and that the ‘Doctor’ knows many things about Mohbad; and he knew what actually killed Mohbad.

About the same time, Gistlover interviewed Wunmi and asked her about Mohbad’s phone. Wunmi told Gistlover that the phone was with Mohbad’s family. The second day, Mohbad’s father denied being with the phone in an interview. He said Mohbad’s phone was with his wife, Wunmi.

Promoter and Canada Visa:
In the process of analyzing the Gistlover story, a woman called me from Canada. It was that woman who revealed to me that the ‘Doctor’ in Mohbad’s phone contact was not a doctor but a show promoter who was behind Mohbad’s planned Canada trip. She said the promoter’s name is Mr George.

The woman begged me not to reveal her identity because the said promoter is her brother. She said the promoter is also close to Naira Marley who signed Mohbad on his record label, so, because the promoter knew how Naira Marley could react, he planned to make the Canada tour a secret until Mohbad got to Canada. The woman said that the promoter also kept Mohbad’s plan a secret because he wanted to make it a surprise to Bella Shmurda who was in Canada at that time.

According to the woman, before Mohbad’s Canada visa was ready, the promoter had called him on Saturday, 9th of September 2023 to inform him that the visa would be ready on Sunday, 10th of September 2023.

On Monday 11th of September 2023, the woman said that the promoter expected Mohbad to have replied to him but he did not. And when they called all his phone numbers from Sunday to Monday, they were all switched off. Until Tuesday when the news came out that Mohbad had died. I was sent the screenshots of the promoter’s chats with the woman and video of Bella Shmurda with the promoter in Canada to back my reports. I don’t accept information that has no proof on my platform.

My Discovery on Instagram:
Some people didn’t believe the woman’s story when I narrated it on my show. They came on my show attacking me and claiming that Mohbad was not going to Canada alone, he was going with Wunmi. They said I was just cooking up stories, that Mohbad’s death should not be linked to the Canada visa issue.

Someone even called in during my live show and said that Mohbad had no show in Canada but the US. That person tried to distract me, saying that the Canada information I got was wrong. But I was not bothered because the information I got was valid.

As I ended my show that night, a woman also sent me the Canada show flier printed by the promoter and claimed that Mohbad was actually traveling to Canada with Wunmi. But I ignored it. I later discovered many things on Instagram that convinced me that, indeed, Mohbad’s death had something to do with the planned Canada tour. My conclusion was that Mohbad’s killers seized the opportunity of the secret travel plans to kill him. All of these I analyzed in my post.

Threat and Kidnap Claim:
Recently, Wunmi made an update which was published by an online newspaper that some people were bullying and threatening her life, vowing to kidnap her and they were also cursing her baby, Liam. The people mentioned were placed in two categories. The first category was listed in a petition filed by the Falana Chambers. The second persons were mentioned in a press conference. In this category, my name was mentioned. They said that I was among those threatening Wunmi with death and kidnap via phone calls.

And my response to that claim was that anyone who has any of my video shows where I posted Wunmi and her son and threatened them, should produce it. Then, the number which they said was used to call and threaten Wunmi, why have they not produced it, including the voice notes they claimed was used to threaten her? At least, they will be able to identify the callers’ voices from the voice notes. Meanwhile, I have video proof of how Wunmi’s people were placing curses on my person and others.

Wunmi’s Travel Plan:
The day after Mohbad’s death, Wunmi published an update online that it was yesterday (the day Mohbad died) she had planned to go for the processing of travel documents for her and their son so that they could travel together with Mohbad. That was where I lost it. If truly Mohbad and Wunmi were traveling together, was it on Tuesday the 12th of September that Mohbad’s visa was ready that the documents processing would begin?

According to Canadian immigration rules, you cannot bring in a baby without first having the DNA test. So, things didn’t add up. That is why I concluded that Wunmi was not in the travel plans. The visa arrangement was for Mohbad alone and the plan was for him to travel secretly. If truly Wunmi was on the travel plans, where would she have kept their baby? There was no way she could leave a five months old baby behind and travel out of Nigeria.

Also, how was it possible to start the processing of travel documents for herself and the baby on Tuesday, 12th of September, the day Mohbad died, and conclude the processing to beat the 17th or 18th deadline when Mohbad was expected to leave Nigeria for Canada? When I analyzed that revelation on my show, people started to reason with me that, indeed, something was amiss.

Adura, Mohbad’s Brother
When Mohbad’s younger brother, Adura, was brought to the inquest, he denied being physically present at the show where Mohbad was said to have sustained wounds in his hand. He said everything he knew about the show matter was told him by Mohbad’s wife, CY. Wunmi is called CY because her first name is Cynthia.

So, Adura said it was CY who told him that there was a fight at the show. When he was asked if Mohbad lost a lot of blood after the fight, Adura said there was no blood. He said that when they got home that Monday, he was downstairs with others when they heard Mohbad and Wunmi having a heated argument over Canada visa.

Adura said the only time he went upstairs that Monday was when Mohbad asked for his phone, which he gave to him and went back downstairs. Adura told inquest that Mohbad was healthy on that Monday with no signs of any ailment. So, in my analysis, I concluded that Mohbad’s fight with Primeboy was not the last before he died.

Mohbad had the last fight with Wunmi. That was why I asked the authorities to call her in for proper questioning. And it was on the basis of my insistence to unearth the truth that Wunmi’s people went to Falana Chambers and listed my name as one of those they claimed had been threatening Wunmi’s life and cursing her baby.

Mohbad’s Father’s Confession:
Three days after I did my analysis, the inquest on Mohbad’s death began. Before that day, people had sent my video to Mr Aloba, Mohbad’s father, to watch it. He did. During the coroner’s inquest, Wunmi corroborated what I said in my analysis that there actually was a disagreement on Mohbad’s Canada travel plans.

When they asked her why the disagreement, she said that there were issues because Mohbad planned to make the trip a secret. This revelation was also published in the media. Wunmi confirmed that they had an argument over the Canada visa but it was a minor issue. She said she also had issues with him because he would not post her pictures on his social media handles. They also asked her how she met Naira Marley and she said she had never met Naira Marley until the NDLEA saga when Mohbad and others were arrested. She said she met Naira Marley through Seyi who was her friend and Naira Marley’s manager.

Why I’m Fighting Back:
When the inquest ended, I did a show to analyze the sessions, particularly Wunmi’s statement that she had never met Naira Marley until the NDLEA matter which happened on February 24, 2022. I spotted a lie in that account by Wunmi. On October 7, 2021, four months before the NDLEA issue happened, Wunmi was filmed sharing the same bed with Naira Marley. The video can be google-searched.

So, I concluded in my analysis, based on the lie Wunmi told about her relationship with Naira Marley, that she must be questioned about Mohbad’s death. Equally, when the rumour was flying about having DNA test for the baby, Liam; that Sam Larry or Oba Elegushi was the father, I did analysis once on that too but I did not conclude or make any allegation.

Also, I did an analysis when Mohbad was beaten after he asked Naira Marley to change his former manager, Tunde. He promised to release songs to tell his life story after that encounter. So, he released a song on November 22, 2022. When I asked people of the meaning of the song, I was told he referred to the biblical Joseph and Jesus’ paternity controversy.

I kept on researching and came across a YouTube interview that Mohbad granted on December 12, 2022 where he confirmed what people said about that particular song. He alluded in the interview that he was like the biblical Joseph who had a child. In my understanding, he conceded that the baby was like Jesus.

Also, on January 31, 2023, Mohbad did another song which he titled ‘Blessing’. In that song too, he referred to the biblical Joseph and Maria. People should listen to that song and confirm what I have said. Everything in that song pointed to his challenge with Wunmi. So, every one of my analyses is based on evidence. I am always careful when making my videos. In Mohbad’s case, especially, none of my videos is a threat to anybody.

That was the breakdown of the events that sparked the battle against my person. Since then I have been attacked; via cyber, spiritual and emotional. I have now decided to write to Falana Chambers to clear myself and request for proof of my purported involvement in the threat calls to Wunmi.
