Yesterday, 7th of June, 2020, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo Olu, presented staff of office to the new Oba of Iruland, His Royal Majesty Oba Wasiu Gbolahan Lawal, at the king's palace in Oniru area of Lagos.
The new king was the former commissioner for agriculture, he resigned a few days ago after he emerged as the traditional ruler of Iruland.
Ideally, the coronation should be a big event but due to the coronavirus pandemic in the country, the event was only attended by a few influential persons in the state.
However, the new king did not let the pandemic ruin his show, he organized a virtual party on zoom shortly after the governor presented his staff of office and certificate.
The virtual party was connected by thousands of families and friends via the zoom application from their home.
Popular Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde K1 the ultimate, was the guest artist at the event.
He played for thousands of people from his home. He also maintained social distancing with his music crew during the live program.
Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, many people who connected with the party danced away their sorrow from their home.
