A man was tonsured, garlanded with shoes, and paraded on a donkey for allegedly converting Hindus to Christianity in Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday. According to reports, over 200 activists of the right-wing Bajrang Dal caught Awdhesh Savita from his home in Randar town in Jalaun district, shaved his head, eyebrows and moustache and paraded him on a donkey in the streets of the town. The mob accused him of luring three Hindus to join him in satsang and then forcing them to covert. They also alleged that the victim made Hindus to break pictures of their gods and goddesses and walk on them and instigating them to eat beef. The mob didn’t allow the local police to take the victim away. Police had to seek the help of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) to rescue the victim and take him to the nearby Orai Kotwali police station.
