The trend of politicians riding on the crest of President Muhammadu Buhari to convince voters to pitch tents with them is not only a frenzy within Nigeria, but has gone outside the shores of the country.
During the build up to the 2015 general elections, many politicians across party lines placed the posters of the then APC presidential candidate side by side with thiers to win the heart of voters.
One of such was seen in Niger state, when some politicians from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had his poster placed side by side with that of Buhari.
The trend has now entered Niger Republic as this campaign vehicle by the president of the country, seeking a second term in office placed Buhari’s picture beside his.
It was learnt that some politicians in Niger now refer to themselves as Buharin Niger.
