This is the horrific moment an Indian man tried to strangle his elderly mother to death while his young daughter looked on.

The wife of the brute filmed the episode which saw Surendra Vaidya wrap a cloth around his 80-year-old mother's face in an attempt to asphyxiate her.

The woman, named Mayawati, can be seen desperately struggling and kicks both her arms and legs as she fights back.

But Vaidya is merciless and shows almost no emotion as he attempts to murder his mother as she writhes on the floor. 

His wife can be heard encouraging the vile act, even saying, 'This woman is so stubborn,' when the octogenarian tries to speak.
