A woman of the United Kingdom, claims that breastfeeding her father has prolonged his life.
40-year-old Helen Fitzsimmons said that she gave her breast milk to her father so he can live longer.
Fitzsimmons of Cheltenham, claims that her breast milk gave her dying father an extra year of life after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Fitzsimmons was breastfeeding her son when she read numerous studies that found that breast milk can boost the immune system.
She then spoke to her 72-year-old father Arthur, who suffered from myeloma and prostate cancers, and he agreed that it was worth trying.
Arthur drank about 2 ounces of breast milk every day, and his daughter claims that almost immediately, it stopped his protein levels from rising.
She said that her father lived for another 16 months after he began drinking her breast milk.
The first time her father tasted her breast milk from a glass, he drank it down in one shot. "He looked at me, smiled and said: ‘this tastes fine,’" Fitzsimmons said.
"I know there are some people who may find this a little strange, but when someone you love is suffering, you would do anything to help them," she added.
