A doctor and some of his patients have suffered an unbelievably sad fate while they were desperately trying to treat diabetes.
An Indian man who is a self-styled doctor has raised some dust in his town after causing the death of both himself and other persons.
The doctor and three of his patients are said to have died in a south Indian village while treating diabetes.
According to AFP, officials revealed that the doctor had prepared a herbal medicine which he claimed could cure diabetes and hypertension. However it turned out to be fatal after they took the substance.
AFP reveals that another patient who also drank the concotion is currently in a critical condition at a government-run hospital.
The doctor reportedly prepared the mixture at his makeshift clinic in Alagappuram village in Tamil Nadu on Sunday.
“They were unconscious and vomiting and were shifted to hospital where four of them died,” said local police officer Muthiah, who only uses one name.
The doctor, identified by police as Muthupandi, first drank the herbal mix to prove its efficacy before giving it to five of his patients from the village, the police officer revealed.
Government doctor Jasline Rajiah said viscera samples had been sent off for analysis at a laboratory to establish the cause of dead.
