It may interest you to know that some people are willing to do anything humanly possible to find the answers that they need, when carrying out a very important research.
A very good example of someone that did everything possible to find answers to questions about his research work was Dr Harold Prince. He was one of the first people to travel to other continents (including Africa), while he was carrying out research on how to cure people with mental illness (Psychiatry). He wanted to combine modern medicine and traditional methods, from different cultural backgrounds. He wanted to use the knowledge he obtained to cure mad people.
He was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. He spent most of his life studying religious experiences. While he was carrying out one of his researches, he had to visit Nigeria and spend some years. When he was trying to do the research in Nigeria, he had to meet the head of witches in Abeokuta (in 1957).
He was also the first psychiatric doctor to visit Nigeria and he worked in Aro psychiatric hospital Abeokuta. He stayed in Nigeria for 2 years.
It was documented that he met the head of witches in Abeokuta while he was trying to learn how the Yoruba people, in the Southwestern part Nigeria cured mad people.
A lot of people were surprised by the opportunity given to him, because it was not easy to meet the head of witches, especially for a foreigner.
During his lifetime, Dr Harold carried out a lot of research, both personal and sponsored. He also wrote a lot of books about his work. Some of his books were made into films. He later died peacefully on 12 May, 2012.
According to his daughter (Susannah Prince) he did some research for the Canadian and United States government.
