The Al-Shabaab terrorists have, for a very long time in the recent past, sold terror and despair to the people of Somalia and indeed the neighboring countries like Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
However, crime does not pay and that is seemingly the lesson the criminals came to learn today as a precise strike by a special forces commandos left over 100 terrorists dead with over 10 of their commanders also perishing.
According to Somalia deputy minister for information Abdurahman Yusuf, the over 100 fighters were killed at Eel-Dhere Burale village that is located at the border between Hiran and middle Shabelle region.
He said that they had received a tipoff from the members of the public. With the aid of local vigilante groups and Somalia's international partners, the miscreants were neutralized.
"Local people told us that more than 200 Al-Shabaab terrorists were in the village ready to attack previously lost territories and those killed included up to 12 horjoogayaal (militants leaders)," he said.
