In the video, George Mambezi can be seen scolding Bambino for ditching his English and Mathematics exams and failing some other subjects.

Despite getting a distinction in music, Mambezi seemed unimpressed and furious as he can be seen on camera slapping his son and poking his head intermittently.

“I told you this is a scar on your entire life, do you know the reputation this gives you? You can’t read? You are a big boy you can’t read? You can’t read, don’t talk to me again’ That’s the result you bring to this house? Look at the result you brought? You idiot,” he said amid a series of slaps on Bambino’s face.

The mother of the boy, who made the recording, can be heard trying to dissuade the father from beating their son. Her pleas, however, fell on deaf ears as he angrily queried her for asking him not to beat their child.

“How can you say I should stop beating him, you know what this means,” he retorted.

The video has however generated lots of argument on social media platforms, especially Twitter, where users have shared their differing opinions.

While a number of users supported the father’s action others brandished it “child abuse”.

“Everybody is shouting 21k like he begged the father to pay the money. somebody wants to match his spendings to his societal status and you’re holding me as the child up to an expectation as a result of that. all of you are mad,” a Twitter user said.

“21K USD school fees. 8million naira. Did not attend classes. Failed exams woefully. Then came home to sit & watch TV. But his dad should have given him hot tea, private massage and a trip to Dubai. This is 2020 Woke Daddy of the Year. Woke Twitter is full of vibes and lunatics,” another user said.
