‘I have fought a good fight for more than 13 years’ | Enyeama retires from the Super Eagles

Lille goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has announced his retirement from the Super Eagles after falling out with coach Sunday Oliseh at the Eagles camp in Belgium.

“I have fought a good fight for more than 13 years. I have finished my course and kept the faith”, he announced in an Instagram post that would have made the biblical Paul proud.

“Henceforth”, he continued, “I am no more the captain of the Nigerian senior football team, I am no more the goalie of the team. I am out of the team. I am no more available for international duties”, the Akwa Ibom born player announced.

Enyeama was walked out of the Eagles camp by his manager after turning up late to camp. He had cited his bereavement for his latest acts of truancy.

Oliseh also stripped Enyeama of the captaincy and handed the badge to Ahmed Musa.
