U-TURN?: My message not for everybody – Pastor Adeboye replies critics

The General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has said his sermons are not for everybody.

The preacher has been a subject of debate on the media for weeks now after he bluntly told singles not to marry women who cannot cook or pray for one hour. The cleric also warned single ladies not to marry jobless men.

Adeboye advised, “Marry a prayer warrior! Don’t marry any girl who cannot pray for one hour non-stop. Don’t marry a girl who is lazy! If she is lazy when she is single, what will happen if she is married?”

In another video, he warned, “Don’t marry a man who has no job. Before God gave Adam Eve, he gave him a job. He said, ‘This is the garden, keep it.’ So when anybody comes to you and say, ‘Sister, thus saith the Lord, you are going to be the star in my firmament,’ ask him — ‘What is your job?’

Apparently reacting to the controversy generated by the message via a Facebook post on Tuesday, Daddy G.O, as Adeboye is fondly called, said his messages were not for everybody.

Adeboye said, “My messages are not for everybody. So, I plead with you, ask God to speak to you specifically.”
