Sallah: Shun Offering Human for Sacrifices, Oluwo Appeals to Nigerians
Oba Akanbi in his sallah message condemned the prevalent cases of killing human for rituals, calling on government to institutionalize an agency that will combat offering human part or whole for sacrifice.
He charged Nigerians to emulate his modern Sacrifice devoid of rituals as the shortest means to earn promotion and improved standard of living.
The monarch stated none if the gods is sufficient to request human for sacrifice, relating such dictate to callousness and ignorance of one suffering from poverty of mind.
In a statement by his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, Oba Akanbi notes " Hatred is a setback to our survival. How on earth will you kill your fellow because of monetary or promotional aspiration? If killing human is accepted, God would have allowed Ibraheem to offer Ismail for sacrifice. Only an heartless one does that. Neither Islam nor Christian teaches that"
"The citizen should emulate my modern Sacrifices such as road rehabilitation, feeding the poor, raising the hopeless, providing clothes and other humanitarian services that incur promotion and monetary affluence. Killing fellow will never earn you promotion but will rather incur curses and wrath of God. As I am, if pray to God through service to humanity" said Oluwo
