Is the religion lying to us: Pastors getting richer: Congregation getting poorer

If a pastor gets paid to preach love, care and help each other, but its members cannot train their kids or feed their family. Why shouldn’t this be investigated or are we still living by the words of “Do not insult or touch a man of God?

A church is hold building where Christians for place of worship on Sundays and should also be a spiritual house where prayers are done communicating with God personally. In Nigeria there has been some cases where Churches has been involved in either corruption activities, money laundry or the pastors live on expensive lifestyle of offerings which are given unto God by the congregation.

Vanguard newspaper reports that “The acting president has begged the Nigerian church to do something about the darkness of corruption that has enveloped the country”, the VP of Nigeria is also a pastor so it shouldn’t  be taken as an opinion as he would know what goes on behind the scenes in the Church of inflow of money.

Former vice president Olusegun Obasanjo also added that

“If the Church, as an institution, does not take bribe or get involved in other corrupt practice, the behaviour of some of our men of God leaves much to be desired.

“They not only celebrate but venerate those whose sources of wealth are questionable. They accept gifts (offering) from just anybody without asking questions. This gives the impression that anything is acceptable in the house of God.

“But if Jesus can chase out those buying and selling from the temple with the declaration that, ‘My house shall be called the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves,’ then it is time to stand up against corruption.”

Churches should be where be able to help its congregation at least as small as possible, but  in Nigeria you get to see that Churches are going contrary to what Jesus Christ had previously condemned of selling and buying of either souvierners or gifts. I keep asking myself why should a man of God be flying private jets and living flamboyant lifestyle while its members keep getting deceived on the daily bases that they should work hard and then God will see their problems. But if they must build churches schools, make the schools cheap enough for its congregation children and others to be affordable

I am a Christian myself, but to an extend i do not agree with the lifestyle of some Nigerian pastors and some statements they make which sounds very negative. I'm not insulting anyone but I cant still figure out why these kind of statements are made in the church.

This videos above keeps many people wondering, if these men of God are just collecting money in the name of believing in God to help them, than them caring for its church members. The question here is “What exactly are these money used for
