At least 70 Christians, including a pastor have been reportedly murdered in Plateau State, after at least six attacks allegedly perpetrated by cattle herders. Gyang, a local man said, in their quest to get rid of Christians in Plateau State and their thirst for blood, have succeeded in killing Christians and burning their houses. The herdsmen on May 2 reportedly set Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) located in Foron Town, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area (LGA), on Fire, killing 27 Christians. The herdsmen who have continually and specifically target Christian villages, chant “Allahu Akhbar” during attacks, meaning “God is Great."
Gyang added, while lives are being lost almost every day, the government has taken no serious action. He however said, they are still faithful to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. According to International Christian Concern’s Regional Manager of Africa, Mr. Troy Augustine, Christians in Nigeria's middle-bet region are being persecuted because of their faith.
