    Police detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Ekpan Division in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, CSP Aliyu Shaba have arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged murder of an engineer Chigozie Udaluh.

    The Police also exhumed the decomposing body of the deceased from a shallow grave where he was buried by the suspects in a farm Akuku-Igbo Community, Oshimili December 2024, DAILY POST can report.

    It was learnt that the deceased suddenly disappeared last year when he went to handle a job with his boys in the community and was not found until date.

    His family members alleged they had complained to the Police for months without any headway.

    They accused the deceased’s landlord who gave him(deceased)the contract job of using their son for a money ritual. The landlord was taken to different shrines to swear which he did to clear his name.

    The landlord was taken to Ekpan Police Station where he was allegedly tossed up and down until he met with the DPC, CSP Aliyu Shaba, who quickly swung into action with a team of detectives.

    With the help of security technology, the CSP Shaba and his men were able to arrest two suspects in connection with the murder of the deceased.

    The suspects who are from Benue State have allegedly confessed to the crime.

    In their confessional statements, they said the deceased, Engr Chigozie Udaluh owed them some unspecified amount of money and that he also abused them verbally as well as blocked their way anytime they attempted to steal bags of cement from the construction site.

    According to the suspects, they first attacked the deceased with a 2by2 plank(wood) on December 10, 2024.

    They added that on December 11, they threw rope in his neck from the back and strangled him to death. The suspects said they quickly took him to a farm and buried him in a shallow grave that they dug.

    The suspects said they also stole the deceased mobile phone and made attempts to transfer money from his bank account through his mobile App.

    The suspects also confessed to being members of the “Egede” cult group.

    The suspects took the Police into the bush to exhume the decomposing body of the deceased from the shallow grave in the farm where he was wuried.

    Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe is yet to pick respond to a text and WhatsApp messages sent to him for confirmation.
