Comrade Daniel Onjeh, the 2023 All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Benue South, has said the party’s ongoing electronic membership revalidation will help to strengthen its internal structures.
Onjeh spoke on Wednesday while participating in the APC e-revalidation exercise at the party’s ward office in Adum-Oko, Orokam Ward 2, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State.
He said political parties are central to democratic governance and stressed that accurate membership records are essential to effective organisation.
According to him, the exercise is designed to update the APC membership database and address challenges associated with manual record-keeping.
He noted that the revalidation is being conducted nationwide to harmonise party records at ward, local government and constituency levels.
Onjeh explained that the registration is open to existing members, new entrants and individuals defecting from other political parties.
He urged APC members in Benue State and across the country to participate so that their details can be properly captured.
He praised the APC national leadership under its National Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, for providing the direction that made the nationwide exercise possible, describing it as “a necessary step toward institutional renewal and internal party consolidation.”
Onjeh also commended Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia, for leading by example by flagging off the exercise in Vandeikya Local Government Area and for providing the logistics that ensured its smooth implementation across the state.
He further lauded the Benue APC leadership, led by Chief Benjamin Omale, as well as party leaders in Ogbadibo, for effectively driving the process.
According to him, the exercise has been “commendable, orderly, and professionally handled.”
The APC e-revalidation and registration exercise is currently ongoing across wards in Benue State.
