    A former Senate Chief Whip, Senator Hosea Agboola on Wednesday led hundreds of members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party (SDP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) to join All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.

    Agboola and other former members of the political parties formally announced their defection to the APC on Wednesday and were received to APC in Iseyin during the rally held for  Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola federal constituency.

    The rally was attended by Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu; Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, APC State Chairman, Alhaji Olayide Abass, Senator Ayo Adeseun, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Engineer Idris Adeoye, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, Chief Moses Alake, and Engineer Rauf Olaniyan.

    Others at the event were; Hon. Remi Oseni, Hon. Olamiju Alao-Akala, Mrs. Hannah Ogunesan, Professor Adeolu Akande, Hon. Bolaji Repete, Hon. Akeem Akogun, Alhaji Saheed Alaran, Alhaji Wasiu Dauda and Hon. Yinka Taiwo.

    Agboola, while addressing the gathering on behalf of the defectors, said that the decision to join the APC followed extensive consultations.

    Agboola, who once served as Chairman of the Advisory Council to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, added that the prevailing unity among APC leaders in the state informed their resolve to align with the party.

    Folarin, while speaking at the event described the mass defection as a strong endorsement of the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

    He said that the APC remains the most credible platform for inclusive governance and sustainable national development.

    He stressed that the APC in the state has resolved all internal differences.
