Members of the Doka community in Kaduna State have petitioned Governor Uba Sani, demanding a thorough investigation into the mysterious death of Ahmed Musa, a Senior Secondary Two (SS2) student at Government Technical College, Malali.

Ahmed, the son of journalist and activist Musa Muhammed, was reportedly found dead within the school premises on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

His father, in a statement, alleged that his son was “brutally murdered by an unknown person.”

According to Muhammed, Ahmed’s body bore signs of brutalization and strangulation, raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding his death.

In response, the Kaduna Doka Development Association (KDDA) has written a petition to Governor Sani, titled, “Urgent Appeal for Justice in the Murder of One of Our Member’s Son (Ahmed Musa) at Technical College, Malali.” The group, through its chairman, Sani Rabiu Bako, expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating that the killing of the promising student has left the family and community in distress.
“This heinous act has not only devastated the victim’s family but has also deeply affected our entire community,” Bako stated.

“Ahmed Musa was brutally murdered under circumstances that remain unclear, but we are compelled to seek the governor’s intervention to ensure those responsible for this crime are brought to justice.”

Bako emphasized that the KDDA has long been committed to fostering peace and unity within the community, but the recent incident has raised serious concerns about security, particularly in educational institutions.

“We believe that swift action from your office can restore confidence in the justice system and send a strong message that such acts of violence will not be tolerated,” he added.

In their petition, the association urged the governor to direct relevant authorities to carry out a thorough investigation and apprehend the culprits.

Copies of the petition were also sent to the Commissioner of Police, the Commissioner for Education, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies.

“We request that measures be put in place to prevent similar incidents in the future. Increased security presence, improved surveillance, and enhanced community policing can help ensure the safety of our children and youth,” Bako further stated.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed that the police are investigating the matter.
