Indigenes of the Oke-Ogun zone in Oyo State have appealed to the All Progressives Congress, APC, to zone its governorship ticket for the 2027 election to the area, citing principles of fairness, equity and inclusiveness. Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has flagged off APC membership e-registration, pledging to build a two-million-member base across the state. The spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers state, Darlington Nwuju, has claimed that his party inherited the challenges of the Peoples Democratic Party. Nwuju made the statement in reference to the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State while fielding questions during the Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Thursday. The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has announced the date for the draw ceremony of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Morocco’s capital, Rabat will host the draw on Thursday, 15 January, 2026. 16 teams will participate in the competition for the first time. Hosts Morocco and defending champions Nigeria are among the teams that will participate in the tournament. The other qualified teams are, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia. Trabzonspor have announced the signing of Nigerian defender Chibuike Nwaiwu, DAILY POST reports. Nwaiwu joined the Turkish Super Lig outfit from Austrian club Wolfsberger AC. The 22-year-old put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year after successfully completing his medicals in Istanbul. Trabzonspor paid Wolfsberger AC €5.5 for the player.
