The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Dele Alake, has described the conviction of Mahmud Usman, a commander of the Ansaru terrorist group, as a major victory against illegal mining in Nigeria. Alake said this in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Segun Tomori, on Sunday in Abuja. Recall that the Federal High Court in Abuja on September 11, convicted and sentenced Usman to 15 years’ imprisonment for illegal mining activities. There are fears that many other patients will lose their lives following the disconnection power supply to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, AKTH by the Kano Electricity Distribution Company, KEDCO. Nigeria’s Flying Eagles departed for Chile on Sunday to finalise preparations for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, DAILY POST reports. Aliyu Zubairu’s side began their build-up for the biennial competition in Abuja last month, engaging in several friendly matches.
