A United States-based Nigerian, Sage Vincent Ike, has alleged that he spent more than ₦1 million renewing his Nigerian passport due to delays, repeated payments and administrative bottlenecks. Ike made the claim in a series of posts on X, where he detailed what he described as a frustrating four-month process that disrupted his travel plans and caused significant financial losses. Troops of Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke, OPWS, have destroyed a suspected terrorist hideout and arrested five suspects during a clearance operation in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State. The operation was reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama. According to the report, the troops carried out the intelligence-led operation at about 11:00am. on August 1, targeting suspected criminal hideouts in Atombagen, Chito, Tse Kighr, Tse Anaka and Sabongida Leke communities. Arise Television’s The Morning Show anchor, Rufai Oseni, on Monday accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, government of President Bola Tinubu of hypocrisy over its recent reactions to comments by Cardinal John Onaiyekan on the state of the nation.
