The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has announced the date for the draw ceremony of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Morocco’s capital, Rabat will host the draw on Thursday, 15 January, 2026. 16 teams will participate in the competition for the first time. Hosts Morocco and defending champions Nigeria are among the teams that will participate in the tournament. The other qualified teams are, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia. Trabzonspor have announced the signing of Nigerian defender Chibuike Nwaiwu, DAILY POST reports. Nwaiwu joined the Turkish Super Lig outfit from Austrian club Wolfsberger AC. The 22-year-old put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year after  successfully completing his medicals in Istanbul. Trabzonspor paid Wolfsberger AC €5.5 for the player. Nwaiwu’s arrival increased the number of Nigerians at the club to four with Paul Onuachu, Kazeem Olaigbe and Anthony Nwakaeme already part of the squad.
