12 States Unpaid Workers' Salaries Estimated At N110 Billion whilst some Governors fly in Jets

It is sad that while some state Governors have private jets, live ostenstatious lifestyles, keep fleet of cars in their backyard and only God knows what they have in their private Bank accounts, their civil servants are not only starving but dying in dozens.  Pensioners are dying gradually while some have no money to pay their bills.

The salary crisis hitting some states in the federation is creating serious concerns in different quarters. According to a report in PUNCH newspaper, at least

12 states in the country are owing their workers to the tune of N110 billion naira.

The states affected includes Osun, Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo, Kogi, Rivers, Benue, Plateau, Bauchi states and others. Governors under the aegis of the Nigeria Governors' Forum met during the week to discuss on the way out of the situation.
