As election approaches, Sen. Gbenga Ashafa has said inflation would wreck Nigeria if President Goodluck Jonathan is allowed to stay in office beyond May 29, 2015, with the current dwindling economy of the country.
Bemoaning the recent Naira devaluation, he according to PM NEWS said that inflation has ravaged the economy with the sudden increase in the prices of goods since most items in the country are imported.
“Everything is now very expensive, dollar exchange for the Naira was N160 before but a few weeks to the presidential election US dollar to Naira is now N225. Therefore, we must not allow Nigeria to be divided. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that Nigeria remains a united entity," the Vice Chairman Senate House Committee on Land, Housing and Urban Development, said.
He added a message for tomorrow's voters "at every polling booth they will count your votes, wait and see how it is being counted. Don’t take food or tea from PDP on election day. You may sleep off shortly after voting and they will rig the election. Don’t fight, fighting may give them the room to annul the election."
