The GatewayMail learnt that the first class traditional ruler would speak on the theme “Impacting the society, a call from God”

“The 2016 Nigeria Excellence Award is put together to celebrate individuals, groups, corporate entities that have distinguished themselves in the year 2016 and a way to promote and appreciate excellence in our country,” the Coordinator of  the South West Nigeria Excellence Awards, Pastor Honey Olawale, said.

A highly elated Oba Akanbi, who left Canada to ascend the throne of Oluwo, expressed joy on the award, which he dedicated to the black race, specifically fellow citizens in Nigeria and in diaspora.

“I thank God for it, but it’s all in my plan and sayings that the best servant for his people among kings will be the best King,” the traditional ruler said, adding: “It means a lot to me because it’s unprecedented in the history of this state and Iwo.”

He further stressed: “It will allow me to always serve my people with all my heart and I want to keep winning every year.

“I’m not shocked by my choice, but I am extremely happy that all works need to be rewarded and I also got this in the first year of my kingship.”

“I dedicate it to all Black race especially Nigerians in Nigeria and diaspora,” Oba Akanbi stated.
