A human rights group has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to prosecute the Ooni-elect, Prince Adeyeye Ogunwusi, based on the allegations of forgery, Punch reports.
Chairman of the Centre for Human Eights and Social Justice Mr. Adeniyi Sulaiman, in a letter written to the Chairman of the EFCC said the allegations were weighty and they ought to be thoroughly investigated.
Sulaiman said the allegation of forgery, fraudulent conversion and obtaining of N400 million against Ogunwusi and his company should not be swept under the carpet.
The group threatened to get court injunction to compel the EFCC to prosecute Ogunwusi if the commission failed to begin the prosecution after seven days of receipt of the letter.
