British singer and songwriter Elton John made a shocking revelation on Sunday, sharing that he had lost his eyesight after his battle with a severe infection.
The 77-year-old legend who spoke with guests at Dominion Theatre in London’s West End after The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical charity gala night performance added that he couldn’t see the performance but enjoyed listening to it.
As reported by BBC, he stated: “As some of you may know, I have had issues and now I have lost my sight. I haven’t been able to see the performance, but I have enjoyed listening to it.”
Crediting his husband for his help, John disclosed that David Furnish aided him throughout the ordeal.
“To my husband, who’s been my rock, because I haven’t been able to come to many of the previews because as you know, I’ve lost my eyesight, so it’s hard for me to see it, but I love to hear it.
“And, boy, it sounded good tonight! OK! Thank you for coming!”, he continued in a post on TikTok.
Elton John addressed his eyesight issue back in September, revealing that he only had “limited vision in one eye” after a “severe eye infection” during the summer.
“I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye,” he penned at the time.
