A diner in China, who found a dead mouse floating in his soup, received a large amount of money to keep quiet about the incident.
On Monday, the customer posted a photo of the mouse on a social media website and promised never to eat at the diner again.
The customer wrote that he never expected such a thing to happen to him while eating at the Wangqingshui restaurant, which is located in Nanchong, Sichuan.
Ge Qing, the restaurant manager, confirmed the incident, and said that he paid the customer 20,000 yuan ($3,200) in compensation and a free meal.
The waitress, He Liping, who served the table, recalled that four customers ate at the restaurant around 12:00 p.m. While they were eating their soup, one customer scooped up the mouse from his plate and showed it around.
Officers of the Food and Drug Administration who arrived at the scene to investigate, slammed Qing for not reporting the case immediately.
Qing however, said that she thought she could resolve the matter with money.
