A police department employee who suffered from a mental illness, jumped to her death along with her twin daughters, police in Japan said.
Chiba Police said that the bodies of the 38-year-old mother and her one-year-old twin daughters were found on the floor next to their apartment building in Funabashi on Friday morning.

Police said that it appeared that the woman was holding her daughters while jumping to her death from the roof of her 11-story apartment building around 9:00 a.m.
The woman worked for the police department in Chiba for many years. According to investigators, the woman had been suffering from a mental illness in recent years. 
She was still on maternity leave when she jumped to her death.
