Africa’s confirmed COVID-19 cases pass 1.93m as death toll reaches 46,505

The Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has said that coronavirus cases in the African continent have reached 1,930,981 with a death toll of 46,505 as of Friday.

The Africa CDC made this known on Friday via its official Twitter account.

According to Africa CDC, a total of 1,634,235 people infected with COVID-19 have recovered across the continent so far.

It also said that the most affected countries include South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, and Ethiopia.

“The southern Africa region is the most affected region both in terms of the number of confirmed positive cases as well as the number of deaths.

“Also, northern Africa region is the second most COVID-19-affected African region,” Africa CDC said.
