"In Nigeria, economic crisis and a high level of insecurity can be regarded as the major triggers for the recent surge in the number of depression cases in the country."
This discussion will focus on coping mechanisms. How helpful is Omugwo that is being practised in the the Eastern part of Nigeria?
"Omugwo is a beneficial socio-cultural mechanism. It is without doubt a proven societal structure found effective for women and their new-born babies, and families in the management of post-delivery experiences."
