The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has arrested a man identified as Paul Osita Eli alleged to be the owner of fake drugs worth over N40 million in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
Eli, was apprehended on Monday at No 2, Charles Edozien Avenue, Asaba, while packaging the fake drugs with mobile authentication number to make it look genuine.
NAFDAC discovered Maloxine, Lumatem (anti-malaria drugs), LOFNAC, Buscomac and Rysovin alongside already printed mobile authentication numbers in the package.
Eli, who alleged to be a graduate of Management Sciences from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka told journalists that he has been in the business for over a year, adding that he did the packaging of the drugs after receiving them from his business associate, whom he identified as Achubuike in Lagos.
