1. Learn to disagree with him respectfully.
2. Avoid bringing up issues when he is tired, distracted, or hungry.
3. Don’t embarrass him in the presence of other people by bringing up decisions he has made that you disagree with.
4. Be willing to admit when you are wrong and learn to say sorry.
5. Keep your emotions under control when bringing up issues.
6. Be more of his cheerleader, than his teacher.
7. Don’t be critical of him when he fails to express his feelings adequately.
8. Build him up, rather than tear him down, particularly when he has failed to meet your standards.
9. Make it a point to ask him what he thinks about things that you feel are important.
10. Get acquainted with his dreams and choose to be supportive and prayerful for them.
11. Talk well about him to others.
12. Keep your home comfortable and inviting.
13. Try to engage in the hobbies he likes.
14. Love him.
15. Be honest with him in areas where you feel he excludes you.
