Dating website for married people slapped with lawsuit for promoting infidelity

A dating website was slapped with a lawsuit after being accused of promoting infidelity by targeting married people, according to court proceedings in France.

Gleeden boasts that its website is the largest in the world designed for married women.

Angered by Gleeden’s provocative advertising in the public transport system, the Association of Catholic Families (ACF) has filed a civil lawsuit, challenging the legality of the business.

Fidelity is an integral part of marriage as written in the country’s civil code. Article 212 of the Civil Code states: “The spouses owe each other a duty to respect, fidelity, help and assistance.”

Experts believe that Gleeden will have a problem in court because the site is designed for infidelity and the company promotes it.

Their business model is based on marital infidelity, the Association of Catholic Families said in a statement.

The company openly declares that their goal is to provide opportunities for married women to have sex outside their marriages.

The company’s ads encourages wives to think that cheating is allowed and fun, the lawsuit states. The website claims to have 2.3 million members in Europe, including one million in France.
