Police in the Isles of Scilly arrived at couple's big day after being asked to attend their wedding but groom Alistair was in for a big surprise.
With his head in his hands, a groom is arrested and led away in handcuffs by police as he leaves his own wedding ceremony.
His stunning bride looks joyful, a radiant smile seemingly indicating she is glad to get rid of her new husband.
But all is not as it seems, as the delightful picture was all part of a stunt by the groom, aided by officers with a sense of humour.
And it's hoped the couple, named only as Alistair and Sara, carried on their nuptials without incident, instead of in the police cells.
Posting on Facebook, Isles of Scilly police Sgt Colin Taylor, said: "Six months ago Alistair contacted us and asked if Isles of Scilly Police could come along to his wedding at Old Town Church.
"He and Sara, were travelling with their entourage from Cheshire to the islands for the special event.
"He didn’t actually specify why he wanted us there or what role he wanted us to have so we reverted to type and arrested him on a trumped up charge of Wasting Police Time as he left the church.
"It will be the joy in his bride's, face as he was lead off in cuffs that will hurt him the most. He got life.
"If you approve of our Zero Tolerance, no nonsense, approach please let us know. It is so important to get feedback."
The stunt went down well with most Facebook posters seeing the funny side.
Traycie Kennedy, said: "Fabulous, love to see community engagement and a police force that make time for people and have a sense of humour. Well done Scilly police."
Rob Hoole, said: "How big a donation to the Policeman's Ball would it take to lock up a wife for the odd spell, say during next year's Ryder Cup?
"I'm asking on behalf of a friend, you understand."
