HYDERABAD:The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials arrested a Nigerian for online lottery fraud. Police seized laptop, mobile phone, SIM cards and remanded him to judicial custody.
The arrested was Uhunmwansebho Jeremiah, resident of Delhi. According to CID police, one K Venkateswara Reddy, resident of Kurnool, lodged a complaint with Cyber Crime police, CID, AP, Hyderabad that he was cheated by some unknown online fraudsters in the name of winning an online lottery and extracted an amount of Rs 1,79,500 on the pretext of processing fee, currency conversion charges etc. Based on complaint, CID officials registered cases and took up investigation.
During the investigation, the Nigerian Ebagua Michel was arrested in Haryana. On the information given by him, one more person who was involved in this case was arrested in Delhi.
