MEN of the Delta State Police Command have begun investigating the death of a Sapele doctor Afoke Akporaivi who was killed in a local hotel while fighting a rival man for snatching his girlfriend.
Eyewitnesses say the doctor was killed in a fight that ensued after he followed his girlfriend to the hotel where she was meeting her lover. According to reports, the doctor, who is married with two wives and kids was hacked to death at the Richard Continental Hotel on Ireto Road in Sapele.
Relatively well known in Sapele, Afoke was reportedly the owner of the Salvation Clinic located on Ogaga Road in the city. Dr Akporaivi's first wife who he had married for 10 years did not produce any child for him, which prompted him to take a second wife who bore him two children.
Apparently, during the fight, the doctor was pushed to the ground and subsequently suffered a heart attack as he had been suffering from high blood pressure. It is not yet clear if any arrests have been made yet as the police have yet to reveal the identity of his killer.
