AKWA IBOM. Physically challenged, 5 others arrested for kidnapping

The Police in Akwa Ibom  state have arrested six persons, including a physically challenged, suspected to be involved in the kidnap of two women in the state.

 

 Murtala Mani, Akwa Ibom state Commissioner of Police, announced this at a press conference on Monday in Uyo the state capital.
Mani said the suspects were arrested at Oruk Anam Local Government Area of the state. They reportedly   kidnapped their victims and kept them in the bush for six days before they were arrested. “The suspects upon arrest and interrogation confessed to the crime, one locally made pistol used by the gang was recovered,’’ he said.
The commissioner also said that the command arrested a gang of suspected armed robbers on January, 22, who invaded a house at Ikot Osute village also in Oruk Anam Local Government Area and robbed a man of his Nokia cell phone valued at 5,000 naira  and a cash of N10, 000 at gun point, adding that they would soon be charged to court.
