The Nigerian army has announced that troops killed 58 Boko Haram fighters in the latest military operation in Borno State, on Tuesday.
Army spokesperson, Col. Sani Usman, said two hand grenades, 52 motorcycles, several bags of foodstuff were recovered during the operation.
The military lost a soldier in the gun-battle, said Usman.
The announcement followed the killing of 27 Boko Haram terrorists in separate raids last weekend by the military.
With the latest development, the Nigerian government said it is winning the war against terrorism. The government has previously said it has “technically defeated” the insurgents.
