Youth activist and Senior Special Assistant to Senate President Senator Bukola Saraki on Youth Matters, Mr Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere was on Monday arrested and detained by the Department of State Security DSS over his alleged anti-government activity and a running battle with the Minister of Sports Solomon Dalong.
Mr Ugochinyere, who is the president of the National Youth Council, was arrested barely two weeks he had conferred life patron on Saraki.
The family of the youth activist in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja which was made available to DAILY POST stated that he was taken to detention immediately.
The statement said: “When he was invited, he informed us and said in case he was being detained we should know his whereabouts that the DSS was detaining him, though he did not know his offences as at the time of invitation “, it said.
The added that nothing has been heard from him despite attempts by his lawyers and his personal physician to gain access to him since Monday.
