How Mother, father and sisters were sent to their early grave with a shovel

One Adamu Mai Bisco was on Monday arrested by the Yobe State Police Command for allegedly hacking his mother, father and sisters to death with a shovel while they slept.

 

The incident happened at their home in Bataiya area of Potiskum town of the state, the Nation reports.

The 28-year-old man, according to the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, RRPO, ASP Toyin Gbadegesin, is believed to have carried out the dastardly act under the influence of hard drugs, Marijuana and Tramol capsules.

The PPRO said, “The suspect, without any provocation as the victims were fast asleep, picked up a shovel, attacked and killed his father, mother and 2 sisters at about 1.00am on Monday.

“The police received a distress call and moved in to arrest the suspect.

“Some items were recovered as exhibit from the suspect who is still being interrogated.

 

“Interim investigation reports revealed that the suspect is a drug addict as he confessed to have consumed illicit drugs.

“The bodies of the victims were evacuated to the hospital for medical examination.

“The suspect will be charged to court soon,” the PPRO added, noting that the offence of culpable homicide committed by the suspect was punishable under and contrary to penal code law section 221.

Meanwhile, sources in the community where the incident happened, said the parents of the suspect had threaten to report him to the police for allegedly being a member of Boko Haram.

A source said, “I gathered that the parents said they will report him to security as a Boko Haram member. He did not take that threat lightly and so decided to kill them while they were all asleep,” the source was quoted to have said.
