My wife wasn’t beheaded, says widower of slain Kano woman

It has been widely reported that Madam Bridget Agbahime, who was killed at Kofar Wambai market in Kano city by a bestial mob, was beheaded as well.

However, husband of the deceased, Pastor Mike Agbahime, told newsmen on Saturday that news of his wife’s decapitation are untrue.

“I don’t know where the news came from. I am saying it before the whole world that my wife wasn’t beheaded. I took her to the mortuary myself. My wife wasn’t beheaded”, he repeated for emphasis.

It has also since been established that the picture circulating in the social media of a beheaded light skinned lady, isn’t that of the late Bridget Agbahime. The slain Bridget was 74 years of age. The picture of a beheaded lady making the rounds on Twitter and Facebook belongs to a much younger woman who looks in her early ’40s.

President Muhammadu Buhari, Kano governor Umar Ganduje and the police released strongly worded statements, Saturday, saying perpetrators of the heinous act will be apprehended and made to face justice. At the time of going to press, two suspected perpetrators have been apprehended.
