Daylight robbery and killings in Owo, Ondo state brought sorrow to the nation as the peace ancient town witnessed killings of innocent people.
After speaking to some Owo indigenes our correspondent was drawn to the fact that the daylight robbery on Thursday, 26th of March, 2015 was caused by the money promised the people of Owo by a certain political party that is currently sharing money, rice and other material things to the Owo people. The money arrived on Thursday and was supposed to be shared on Friday 27th of March, 2015 to some influential persons in Owo. The information however was leaked to armed robbers who also tracked the arrival of the money to the affected banks – Wema bank and Skye Bank.

The robbery started around 5pm and lasted for over 3 hours. The robbers killed anyone one on sight. The bank manager of Wema bank was killed and many more.
