Orekoya kids: My husband is the mastermind behind the kidnap – Nanny

The nanny, who abducted three children in the Surulere area of Lagos State on April 7 was allegdly pushed into the act by her husband, Waheed Kareem. She disclosed this in her confessional statement.

According to the nanny, the family runs a kidnapping business, adding that her husband is the head of the gang.

The 35-year-old Funmilayo Adeyemi who hails from Osun State confessed to the crime, saying her entire family members were involved in the act.

It would be recalled that the aggrieved family paid an undisclosed ransom before the children were released, after which, Funmilayo was arrested through a track devise by the Lagos State Police Command.

While being paraded at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja, she said it was the second time she was involved in the abduction of children in the state.
She said the first was the kidnapping of two kids-Rapheal and Michael, in the Magodo area of Lagos State.
The nanny stated that she relocated to Sasha area of Lagos after the first kidnapping saga. She said she left the Aja area with her husband and their four children in order to evade arrest.

Adeyemi disclosed that the Orekoya’s paid a ransom of N2m, adding that her husband gave her N30,000 out of the proceed.

According to her, she got the nanny’s job through her brother-in-law and his wife, who were always online to track posts.

On the kidnapping of the Orekoya children, she noted, “On Wednesday, their father and mother went to work. I put the little one on my back, while I held the others by the hands, telling them that I wanted to buy them something. We boarded a vehicle to Ojuelegba and from there, I took another bus to Iyana Ipaja and contacted my husband.

“I took them home, where they stayed with me in one of the rooms. I bought cereal for the 11-months-old baby; he was always fed with pap at his mother’s place. I gave the others normal food. They always watch cartoon on the television; they never missed home.

“My husband told me that he wanted to collect a token from the parents, but the following day, I found out that the kidnappers demanded N15m.

“I challenged my husband for asking for such a big sum. He said I should shut up because I had already fulfilled my part and that it was time for them to do theirs. Later, I heard in the news that he had reduced it to N13m.”

On if she felt any remorse after committing the act, the 35-year-old Adeyemi said she felt nothing until she saw the mother of the victim’s wept on a national television.

The other gang members involved in the kidnapping of the Orekoya boys are, Adeyemi’s brother-in-law, Hakeem Kareem; her husband, Waheed Kareem; her sister-in-law, Ajoke Oseni, and the nanny.

Adeyemi said she was in a fan repairer’s workshop when she was arrested by the police, while adding that her husband fled on seeing her been taken away by police officers.

The nanny, who reportedly abducted three children in the Surulere area of Lagos State, on April 7 has said she was pushed into the act by her husband, Waheed Kareem.

The nanny disclosed that kidnapping is a family business adding thatb her husband is the head of the of the kidnap.

Confessing to the crime she said her actual name was Funmilayo Adeyemi, a 35-year-old and hails from Osun State.

It was gathered that aggrieved family paid an undisclosed ransom before the children were released.

Upon her arrest on Thursday, and subsequently been paraded at the Lagos State Police Command Headquatres in Ikeja, she said this is the second time she kidnapped children in the state.

She said the kidnaping of two kids Rapheal and Michael, in the Magodo area of Lagos State was her handiwork.

The nanny also noted that she, her husband and their four children in other to evade arrest from the police after the Magodo boys kidnapping saga had to relocate from Ajah area of Lagos State to Shasha.

Adeyemi disclosed that the Orekoya’s paid a ransom of N2m, while her husband gave her just N30,000 as her share of the proceed.

Those involved in the kidnap of the Orekoya boys are, Adeyemi’s brother-in-law, Hakeem Kareem; her husband, Waheed Kareem; her sister-in-law, Ajoke Oseni, and herself.

adding that on seeing that she was been taken way by police officers took to his heels.
