President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday held separate meetings with two top Nigerian pastors based in Ogun State.
He met with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye; and the Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, otherwise known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo.
Oyedepo’s church is located in Ota, Ogun State while that of Adeboye is located at Mowe along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
President Jonathan is expected to handover power to Gen. Muhammadu Buhari come May 29.
It was gathered that Jonathan touched down at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos in the afternoon and was conveyed to the venues of the separate meetings in a helicopter.
Journalists were not briefed on the outcome of the meeting as the president who was accompanied on the trip by a few aides, returned to Abuja immediately.
Details of discussions at the meetings were not known as at press time.
Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, could not be reached to comment on the purpose of the meeting.
Pastors Adeboye and Oyedepo were said to be among the people who reconciled Jonathan with the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo few months back.
