Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema has been hailed as the only outgoing state chief executive in Nigeria today leaving office without any pile of debt for his successor to worry about, Daily Post reports.
According to Today.ng, the former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) boss, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu stated this when the governor was being conferred with the The Sun Outstanding Performance Exit Award yesterday.
While delivering a congratulatory message at the event which held in Lagos, Ribadu said Shema deserved the award.
Ribadu said: “He is not just a friend but a brother and a classmate. We started in Ahmadu Bello University the same day in 1980 and we have remained friends up till now. I am standing here on behalf of the class of 83 of the Ahmadu Bello University and class of 84 of the Nigerian Law School. I am here on behalf of all of us to share this moment of joy with our friend.
“We know Ibrahim as a very intelligent person and the best in our class and as someone who was very very meticulous and detailed in whatever he was doing. Within the last eight years, he has changed the face of government in Katvery meticulous and very sina and we are very proud of you, not just by what you have done but the legacy that you have left behind also.
In another development, outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan has said he expects himself, his ministers and aides to be probed after he leaves office on the 29th of May 2015.
